Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress famous for her performance in film productions such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her career in showbiz from a young age. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as the role as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated features featuring women. Through the years, Alexandra has been involved in a variety of significant international and local projects. The British biographical feature Control, the Greek-language dramatic The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon include among them. In addition, she was a member of juries at Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
